About Tonicade
At Tonicade, we believe music fluency is more than reading notes or memorizing rules - it’s the ability to think in sound, respond instinctively, and make music a natural part of who you are.
Founded by Nathan Smith, a choir director, AP Music Theory teacher and passionate musician, Tonicade was created to help students bridge the gap between knowing music and living it. With years of experience directing middle and high school choirs, Nathan saw a need for a program that trains the ear, voice, and brain to work together - so making music becomes as natural as speaking.
What Drives Us
To give musicians of all levels the tools and training they need to develop true fluency - the kind that lets you read, hear, and play with confidence, anywhere, anytime.
Teaching Method
Ear-first approach – You learn music the way you learned language: by hearing, imitating, and speaking it first.
Rhythm & pitch mastery – Build timing and pitch accuracy that sticks for life.
Practical theory – Learn only what you’ll actually use in performance.
Real-world skills – Walk into rehearsals ready to sing or play without hesitation.
